چکیده
Objectives: The primary purpose of this study was to investigate retear rates in patients who underwent ACLR with and without internal bracing a matched cohort study. Additionally, we also sought if there were any differences clinical patient-reported outcomes between the groups. We hypothesized that would reduce incidence revisions safe effective manner. Methods: A total 200 included Patients ages 13-39 at time surgery autograft (IB group) October 2010 July 2020 enrolled our institution’s registry minimum 2-year follow-up identified 1:1 non-internal brace (no-IB) group based on patient demographics concomitant procedures. Every completed Knee Injury Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS), Marx Activity Rating Scale (MARS), Veterans RAND 12-Item Health Survey (VR- 12), Visual Analog (VAS) pre- postoperatively. KT-1000 arthrometer measurements postoperative objective, assessments. Results: IB significantly less revision ACLRs (1% vs. 8%, p = 0.017). average elapsed from original did not differ for no-IB groups comparable (19.0-years-old 19.9-years-old). 5 9 meniscal procedures among them their compared just one (p 0.009). There 4 anterolateral ligament reconstruction (4 0, 0.043). All outcome measures (PROMs) increased both exception MARS score which decreased improved following cohorts yielding results manual maximum pull (0.97mm 0.65mm). Conclusions: resulted an 88% decrease while maintaining reported outcomes. Incorporating Internal into is therefore within these parameters. [Table: see text][Table: text]

Revision anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with hamstring tendon autograft: 5- to 9-year follow-up.
BACKGROUND The results of revision anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction are limited in the current literature, and no studies have previously documented the outcome of revision anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using solely hamstring tendon grafts. HYPOTHESIS Revision anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with 4-strand hamstring tendon graft affords acceptable results and is ...
متن کاملAnterior cruciate ligament reconstruction in children with a quadrupled semitendinosus graft: preliminary results with minimum 2 years of follow-up.
BACKGROUND The management of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears in growing patients must balance activity modification with the risk of secondary (meniscal and cartilaginous) lesions, and surgical intervention, which could adversely affect skeletal growth. Many ACL reconstruction techniques have been developed or modified to decrease the risk of growth disturbance. We have not found any des...
متن کاملReturn to sports after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction - a review of patients with minimum 5-year follow-up.
INTRODUCTION It is difficult to counsel the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) deficient patient considering surgical reconstruction on the likelihood of eventual return to sports as information on this is lacking, especially in the Asian context. We wanted to determine how many of our patients who had ACL surgery returned to their previous levels of sports, 5 years after their surgery. For those...
متن کاملAnterior Cruciate Ligament Injury: A Consideration for Internal Brace Ligament Augmentation
As orthopedic surgery continues to evolve, it is indicated to reevaluate the surgical management of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. Surgeons are searching for methods to shorten recovery time and to preserve mechanical neuro-sensory function. In doing so, they must choose whether to repair, or to reconstruct the ligament. Anatomical discoveries of the knee have led to the recent in...
متن کاملRevision Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
CONTEXT Reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of the most common surgical procedures, with more than 200,000 ACL tears occurring annually. Although primary ACL reconstruction is a successful operation, success rates still range from 75% to 97%. Consequently, several thousand revision ACL reconstructions are performed annually and are unfortunately associated with inferio...
